The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies' (IFRC) World Disasters Report 2012, edited by Emeritus Professor Roger Zetter, is launched today

This year’s 20th edition focuses on 'forced migration and displacement'. It discusses the contemporary causes and consequences of forced migration associated with different displacement situations (conflicts, natural and technological hazards, development) and their impact on the health, dignity and rights of migrants.

Professor Zetter will be speaking at the global launch event in Brussels today and a second launch event, held at ODI on 18 October 2012, will feature both Professor Zetter and Dr Nando Sigona – a contributor to the report – as speakers. You can register to attend on the ODI website.

Other RSC contributors to the report include Dr Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh (main contributor) and Maurice Herson (reviewer).
