Congratulations to Dr Hiba Salem, the outgoing Pedro Arrupe Research Fellow, on winning an Oxford University Press First Book Prize for her forthcoming book, The Politics of Education and Hope in Forced Migration: Journeys of Syrian Young People Across the World.

Through compelling life story interviews, the book will explore the lived experiences of Syrian refugee youth across nine countries. It will reveal how young people navigate uncertainty under hostile immigration regimes, and how their voices challenge us to rethink education, hope, and human dignity in the context of forced migration.

A fully open-access digital version will be published, alongside the hardback publication, to ensure it reaches a wide audience.

Dr Salem will introduce the book at a lecture at Campion Hall, Oxford, on 13 November. Register to attend.
