Many congratulations to our founder Dr Barbara Harrell-Bond who is today being awarded with an Honorary Doctorate from SOAS University of London.
Seminal in the field of refugee studies, Dr Harrell-Bond, Emerita Professor, has worked to establish the study of refugees as a significant area of academic enquiry, with an important contribution to public policy. She was awarded the Franz Boas Award for Exemplary Service to Anthropology in 1996 and the Lucy Mair Medal for Applied Anthropology in 2014.
