500+ Master’s scholarships available for African refugee and displaced students at 25+ universities worldwide.

Are you an African learner* with 1) a forced displacement background, 2) interest in pursuing a Master's degree in 2026, and 3) need for a full scholarship to cover tuition, visas and travel, and living costs? Join Graduate Horizons!

The Refugee-Led Research Hub (RLRH) is launching Graduate Horizons, a global application support programme for prospective students who have been affected by displacement, eg, as refugees, asylum seekers, IDPs, and stateless, among other categories. Apply here!: https://forms.gle/bi1LK2baoQbAYVoW6.

Through Graduate Horizons, the RLRH will support you to develop your skills to put together applications for funded Master's degrees starting in 2026 at more than 25 universities in Africa, Europe, the UK, North America and the Middle East.

*Students with a displacement background who are NOT African are also invited to apply to Horizons. The RLRH team will provide support to apply to a smaller selection of degrees and scholarships available at a range of universities. As you move through the application form you will be directed to fill in relevant sections.

Programme structure:

Over six months, Graduate Horizons participants will receive mentorship from alumni of Master's degrees. They will participate in a series of 1:1 conversations and workshops that focus on helping choose good-fit universities and degree programmes, write strong personal statements, and build a compelling CV, among other resources. You will attend information sessions with scholarship-providing universities to learn more about degrees available across the world. RLRH aims to support you to submit at least four applications for Master's degrees by the end of the programme.

Eligibility criteria:

In order to join Graduate Horizons, you must:

  • Identify as having been affected by displacement (eg, as a current or former: refugee, asylum seeker, IDP, stateless person, or another category, including intergenerational dislocation);
  • Have completed a Bachelor’s degree, or be in your final year, in any field of studies;
  • Be able to carry out studies in English or French;
  • Plan to submit applications to graduate degrees within six months of beginning the programme, for enrolment in 2026;
  • Fill in all parts of the application form.

Please note: RLRH strongly encourages applications from individuals in social groups that are under-represented in higher education, including LGBTQ+, gender non-conforming, women, and disabled candidates. If you are uncertain whether you'd like to participate in the programme and seek additional support, please be in touch.

Register for an information session:

Want to learn more? If you are interested in joining Graduate Horizons, you are invited to participate in an information session to learn more about the support offered.
