Florín Nájera-Uresti

Special Projects Manager

Florín Nájera-Uresti is the Special Projects Manager at the Refugee-Led Research Hub (RLRH)  where she oversees daily administration, financial management, communications, and project coordination. In her work, she collaborates closely with RLRH's partner, the British Institute in Eastern Africa (BIEA) to manage partnership activities and ensure the smooth operation of research projects and partnership events. Florín also supports organisational policy development, event organisation, and provides editorial assistance for publications, playing a key role in maintaining RLRH’s global initiatives. 

Florín holds an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from the University of Oxford, with her thesis examining the role of artificial intelligence in global migration management. She graduated with honors from Brown University with a BA in Migration and Human Security, conducting research on the political scapegoating of migrants in the United States. In previous roles, Florín led state-wide advocacy campaigns for Free Press in California and contributed to asylum and migration policy research and advocacy at FWD.us and the Hispanic Federation. When she’s not at work, Florín enjoys learning new languages - native in English and Spanish, and having studied German, Arabic, Portuguese, and Turkish, her list continues to grow - exploring the outdoors, cooking, and kayaking on the River Thames.
