Uwezo Ramazani
Lead Researcher (Study on pathways to formal employment in Africa)
Uwezo Ramazani is the Lead Researcher for the study on pathways to formal employment in Africa. Previously he was the Tanzania Lead Researcher for the RLO Study in East Africa. For the past seven years, Uwezo has been working with Resilience Action International (RAI), an RLO operating mainly in Kakuma Refugee Camp, most recently as Interim Executive Director where he co-authored an article titled The Potential of Self-Managed Abortion to Expand Abortion Access in Humanitarian Contexts Published in Frontiers Global Women Health Journal and conducted a survey on “Refugee Youth Needs Mapping: Promoting Education for Productive Livelihoods among Refugee Youth in Kakuma refugees camp, Kenya”. Uwezo was awarded two DAFI scholarships and the Mwalimu Nyerere Scholarship Scheme for people with physical disabilities sponsored by the African Union. Uwezo holds an MA in Governance and Leadership from the Open University of Tanzania as well as an MA in Public Administration from Mzumbe University, Tanzania.
