Refugee Week 2022 begins today, World Refugee Day. This year’s Refugee Week theme is ‘Healing’. Through creativity and conversations, Refugee Week 2022 will be a celebration of community, mutual care, and the human ability to start again.
Throughout the week, numerous groups and organisations across the UK are hosting events, some online, some in person. Find the long list of what’s on here: https://refugeeweek.org.uk/events/.
Taking place today at the Ciné Lumière in London is a special screening of the film Shelter without Shelter by Mark E Breeze (director) and Tom Scott-Smith (producer). This will include extracts from different parts of the film followed by a panel discussion with Mark and Tom, moderated by Mahmood Ahmed, Chairman of the Aga Khan Foundation UK National Committee. See the Ciné Lumière website for full details. This screening is one of a series of screenings and Q&As presented as part of Refugee Week by Ciné Lumière.
