In September 2020, Professor Cathryn Costello, currently Andrew W Mellon Professor of Refugee and Migration Law at the University of Oxford, will take up the newly created post of Professor of Fundamental Rights at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. She will also co-direct Hertie's new Centre of Fundamental Rights with Professor Basak Çali. She has been granted a period of special leave from her post at the Refugee Studies Centre to enable her to take up this post and to forge links between the two institutions.
