We are delighted to welcome all participants to Oxford for the RSC2017 conference, taking place today and tomorrow at Keble College

The conference begins with an opening plenary by Professor Audrey Macklin (Professor and Chair in Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Toronto) titled ‘Resettler Society: The Canadian Model of Private Refugee Sponsorship’.

After the opening plenary, three sessions today will featuring 20 panels on varied topics including African displacement, resettlement, refugee law, refugee shelter, deportation, children, refugee economies, and the EU in crisis. The conference continues tomorrow with a further 21 panels across three sessions. The closing plenary will be given by Achim Steiner, Director of the Oxford Martin School, former United Nations Under-Secretary General and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, on the subject ‘Disaster Displacement’.
