The RSC's Refugee-Led Research Hub (RLRH) is providing postgraduate application support to individuals who have been affected by forced displacement. The RLRH is launching an application support programme for students who have been affected by forced displacement, e.g., as refugees, asylum seekers, IDPs, and stateless, among other categories. We will be supporting individuals who are interested in submitting applications for postgraduate degrees that begin in Autumn 2023 at Oxford and other universities. Most candidates will have completed extended graduate-level bridging programmes that were run by Oxford between 2021-22.
During last year’s pilot of this access programme, RLRH matched 25 students with mentors for 1:1 support. Fourteen offers were received for postgraduate programmes across the Divisions at Oxford. Six offer-holders were awarded full funding to begin degrees at ODID. This year, we aim to support at least 60 prospective applicants from across the globe to be considered for an increasing number of Oxford-based scholarships designated specifically for scholars with lived experience of displacement.
RLRH aims to recruit 40 people who are current students or alumni of the University to provide mentorship beginning October 2022. Are you interested in supporting this access initiative? The Refugee-Led Research Hub (RLRH) is an initiative of the Refugee Studies Centre at the University of Oxford. We prepare aspiring scholars and researchers with lived experience of forced displacement for academic and research careers across the social sciences and humanities, with a focus on supporting new leadership in the field of Refugee and Forced Migration Studies. RLRH draws support and mentorship from Oxford faculty and students to increase students’ access to graduate degrees and professional development opportunities. RLRH is predominantly staffed by individuals affected by forced displacement.
