The Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) was founded in 1982 and is part of the Oxford Department of International Development. Our mission is to build knowledge and understanding of forced migration in order to help improve the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people.

RSC Statement on Ukraine
We, at the RSC, would like to express our deep shock and sadness at the loss of life and profound suffering caused by Russia's unlawful invasion of Ukraine. We also wish to express our solidarity with Ukrainians, and the huge numbers of people displaced by the current war.
Everyone, whether they are forced to flee events in Ukraine or elsewhere in the world, has the right to access and to receive protection in safe countries. We urge states to respect this fundamental right, without discrimination, for Ukrainians and for all people displaced from countries where their basic human rights are threatened.
