Matthew Porges

Matthew Porges is a PhD student in Social Anthropology at the University of St Andrews. His research explores the relationship between mobility, ecology, and state power in northern Mauritania and the Sahrawi refugee camps in southwestern Algeria. Prior to starting his PhD, he worked at Independent Diplomat in Brussels, Belgium. His writing has appeared in the London Review of Books, Jadaliyya, Current Anthropology, and elsewhere.
