Research Assistant - Refugee Economies Programme

Oxford Department of International Development, Queen Elizabeth House, Mansfield Road, Oxford

Grade 6: £28,660 - £34,189 p.a.

We are looking for a Research Assistant to join the Refugee Economies Programme led by Professor Alexander Betts. You would be responsible for the provision of research support, relating to the collection and analysis of quantitative data in refugee camps and cities in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda. Undertaking significant fieldwork (up to 6 months per year) helping to coordinate teams of enumerators while assisting with data analysis.

You will hold a first degree and a Masters degree in economics or a related subject area such as development studies, political science, or sociology and hold some experience of fieldwork, ideally in Africa. As well as a strong and proven background in quantitative research methods, proficiency in the use of STATA and the ability to manage research and administrative activities. You should also possess excellent communication skills and have experience of following and adapting methodologies.

This full-time appointment is fixed-term for 12 months and based at the Refugee Studies Centre, at the Oxford Department of International Development, Queen Elizabeth House, Oxford.
