This panel discussion at the Refugee Studies Centre will consider the future of humanitarian action in the context of forced migration. Drawing on a collection of papers published in the latest edition of Refugee Survey Quarterly, the presentations will begin with three members of staff from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) sharing their experiences and reflections on the challenges aid workers face when responding to human movement. Respondents will address the political and legal implications of humanitarian action, the prospects for humanitarian principles, and the relationship between aid and border regimes. The event will be held in Seminar Room 3, Oxford Department of International Development, 3 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TB.
