About the speaker

Lili Song is a Lecturer in Law at the University of the South Pacific. She was educated in China and New Zealand. The core of her research is Chinese refugee law and policy. In 2013 and 2014, she conducted fieldwork in Kachin State, Myanmar and Yunnan Province, China on ethnic Kachins displaced by armed conflict in Myanmar and maintain a strong interest in forced migration on the Chinese-Myanmar Border.

Lili serves as a member on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the South Pacific Law and the Editorial Advisory Board of RefLaw.org, a scholarly online blog/journal. She is a member of the Asian Pacific Refugee Rights Network and is qualified to practice law in China.
