RLO Study: Research Lead, Ethiopia

Abis Getachew is the Ethiopia Lead Researcher for the study on refugee-led organizations in East Africa. He leads the country research programme, from research design to analysis and writing-up. Abis has been involved in different research projects on displacement and forced migration on the topics of social cohesion, economic participation and refugee-led initiatives. Abis also has vast experience of conducting survey management tasks especially in the camp contexts in Ethiopia. Apart from displacement related research works, Abis has also been involved in different macroeconomic policy-related research in Ethiopia, with a particular focus on taxation, monetary policy, labor market and economic growth. Abis is a BA graduate in Economics from Addis Ababa University and holds his BA Honors and Masters from the University of South Africa.
