Internships

The RSC welcomes requests from suitably qualified applicants for a variety of internship projects and activities. We believe that such internships can provide the opportunity both to build the capacity of the intern and to enhance the work of the Centre.

Internships usually last for approximately six weeks, either full or part time. Longer or shorter periods can also be considered.

RSC interns are encouraged to attend public seminars and lectures and other RSC workshops and events where appropriate and given availability. Interns are free to use the RSC library resources.

The RSC is able to provide reasonable local travel and lunch expenses. We are unable to provide accommodation or additional subsistence costs but are happy to advise on possible sources of support.

The skills and qualifications of the intern will depend on the tasks being undertaken. Examples of possible roles include:

  • Literature reviews for research reports
  • Data entry
  • Event organisation/support
  • Project development

For more experienced researchers and doctoral students developing their own work the RSC has a separate Visiting Fellows Programme.

How to apply

Specific requests for interns will be advertised from time to time on the RSC website. Other expressions of interest are dealt with on an ad hoc basis.

Please send an email outlining your availability and interests, together with your CV and the name of two referees, to  Narola Das, narola.das@qeh.ox.ac.uk.

NB. Due to visa restrictions, the RSC can only support applications from EEA nationals or current students. We have a particular interest in suitably qualified refugees and asylum seekers.
